Ride With Us
Most of our joy in riding is sharing our beautiful country site here in the mountains around Monteverde in Costa Rica on our very well trained arabian horses. Our line “Monarab” - the finest of any kind of experience in a ride in vacation, developed over many years of experience know as the stable “Smiling Horses” in Monteverde. Many years, our efforts of having well trained tourist horses was successful known in most available Costa Rican guidebooks with the best reputation imaginable. Yet, for me personally on a vacation as an experienced rider, I would have wanted more. This is the main motivation what made develop Monarab. Share wit us our arabian horses who are also trained in the national endurance sport in Costa Rica. Get the a fulfilling ride not just by the beauty of the nature surrounding us, but also with a horse you will never forget.
We begin the ride slowly to warm up and ensure that you are able to get to know your horse, transitioning to trot and canter depending on the terrain. Endurance riding is not about speed, but about being in the saddle over quite some time and distance — as well as listening to your horse. We take weather conditions into consideration when planning the excursion. The hours and trail conditions dictate which way we are heading out. We are close to the continental divide, so we have 3 different climate zones to ride in around our farm. The Arenal Area, The Guanacaste Area, and the Central Pacific Zone. Most of the ride is in deep local countryside with views of the country site of Guanacaste, Lake or Volcano Arenal, the windmills in Tilaran, the Volcanos up north, or the Pacific Ocean.
Throughout the ride there are many chances to take photos. Our goal is for you to leave our farm happy, fulfilled, and hopefully a little tired, ready for some rest or a massage, along with a memory to last you a lifetime.
Riders have to submit a travel insurance prove after booking and weigh less than 180 pounds.
On our arabian endurance horses we ONLY accept riders that have horseback riding experience and have not only a good seat, but manage transitions, keep gates steady and act as a responsible rider along the trail. We expect you to be getting on and off your horses anywhere if necessary.
Our farm in Costa Rica is located between Monteverde and Tilaran. We will provide driving directions to our farm with your reservation.
